Hi!

I'm Joni-Petteri Paavilainen, and I will bring your company to the forefront of digital development
I am a developer of digital services, focusing on the application of innovations and customer-oriented service design. In my current role at Elisa, I have spearheaded the development of a modern analytics and reporting offering and directed the design of our services - creating a clearer and more uniformly managed service experience.
My experience broadly covers digital automation, online portals, and identity management development projects. In my supervisory role, I have been praised for supporting my subordinates and always look forward to new challenges. The feedback I have received from partner management is positive; I am known for my ability to collaborate.
I was originally inspired by the IT industry because I felt that one could achieve so much concrete with so little. The challenges in the real world are often more complex, and collaboration and trust, and sometimes communication, are often more important than technology.
I continue to be excited about technology and its possibilities. I love looking for solutions, brainstorming with experts, the client, and the business. Almost as much, I also love the stages after ideation, that is, the concrete completion of development. In daily life, after planning, I am a practical and pragmatic servant of the business - I want to see concrete benefits for customers and society in what I do. In my project work, I am used to being responsible for the development as a whole, including budgeting, procurement efficiency, building collaboration networks, and, if necessary, technical resolution, alongside personnel and task management.
In my current role, I develop Digital Service Management. With my help, we have developed not only a modern reporting offering at Elisa but have also directed the design of our services so that we can provide our customers with a clearer and more uniformly managed service experience. In addition to the lead responsibility for digital automation, online portal development, identity management, and the development of these automation solutions, I have developed and been responsible for our support processes from customer usage advice to maintenance solutions. As part of the solution palette, I have built a partner network to develop our services.
To ensure the smooth continuation of development, I have played a central role in building a development environment and supplier network in which we can utilize several different partners simultaneously to develop the company's common capital.
In the diverse partner network we have constructed, we are not dependent on a single provider, but can efficiently and flexibly leverage the expertise offered by the market to improve and develop our service, with a single tracking model that is open to partners.
My leadership has been praised; I aim to support my subordinates primarily in the development of their expertise, but I am also demanding and expect progress and achievements. Predominantly, my subordinates have appreciated my approach, as I have received top results in supervisor feedback measurements up to this point. I have often received positive feedback from partners and participants in my projects. Partners with whom I actively work value my solution-focused approach and systematic way of guiding actions and providing creative support to overcome challenges.
I have long-term experience in creating the architecture for solution development, launching technical outputs and services, and related partner management. I have always been interested in and aimed for development that creates capital and opportunities for future development, in addition to achieving short-term goals.
Previously, I have led the development of online portals, analytics solutions, and the automation of our production control, covering Finland's widest range of IT service and network solutions. Before developing Elisa's reporting services, my publicly visible achievements include the development and launch of Elisa's terminal services Aula service for our customers. In addition, I have been a key person behind the scenes, for example, in establishing a proactive monitoring service for the quality of workstation maintenance services, and I was involved in the early stages of the development of artificial intelligence solutions for service operations management.
From the chart below, you can take a closer look at my work history, and below this you can find a summary of my recent responsibilities
As summary, my recent work roles are:
Customer Reporting Manager, starting 2019/09 and ongoing
As the Head of Customer Reporting, my main task has been to create and implement a development roadmap that serves Digital ICT service management, catering to both current business and creating opportunities for new services for our customers, developing a uniform service experience. I am responsible for the technical master plan, subcontracting and its procurement, budget management, investment calculations, and their realization in collaboration with other organizations.
I am also in charge of a production team that handles (highly automated) customer operations and ensures service disruption management. In addition to subcontracted resources, I have a few subordinates. As their skill expectations and responsibility areas have expanded, I have helped them develop their expertise and product knowledge through personal development maps.
Development project manager 2014-2019/09
Before my current role, I worked as a project manager, responsible for tasks ranging from needs assessment and solution creation to managing all operations to complete the development process. I primarily worked as a project leader, but also as an implementer when necessary.
As a professional, I was given ample opportunities to learn and develop not only in applying technology but also in building the operational changes needed by the organization to increase competitiveness. When introducing new technologies, I often had to evolve into a solution expert myself to understand the needs for change, ensuring that these changes became part of everyday operations.
In the final phase of my role, I served as the program manager of the project, where I directed the work of other project managers.
For those interested in collaboration, new opportunities, and networking: I am open to discussions and look forward to your contact.
Best regards,
